What's a gal to do after she wraps up the most successful book series of all time?

For J.K. Rowling, the obvious answer is simply to keep on writing — and lucky for us, she recently announced that she'll be releasing not one, but TWO new books soon!

The week before Christmas, a fan asked the 51-year-old author when Potterheads could expect some new work from her. (Not that Jo's been on hiatus lately: She wrapped up a few short stories plus the script for Fantastic Beasts just last fall.)

Rowling — who's not shy about interacting with fans on Twitter — replied that she was working on something that very moment

Fans couldn't believe their eyes.

But, yeah — IT'S A THING. (Her thing, evidently.)

Though you shouldn't bet on Newt Scamander (of Fantastic Beasts fame) making an appearance...

...Here's what you can expect, according to Bustle: A new book under Rowling's own name, plus another under her pseudonym, Robert Galbraith. (She released three crime fiction novels under that pen name from 2013 to 2015.)

With that tidbit in mind, you probably wouldn't be too bold to assume that one book is a Potter spin-off of some sort, and the other will be a detective novel that stands on its own.

2017 is already lookin' wayyy up!
